Confined to a cave, Dragon cannot fly high above the world seeking whatever food comes their way. Here Dragon is presented with food from the villagers, in a trade off that limits their power, confines the wild to the darkness and betrays instincts. The humans are terrified but channel their fear into appeasing the creature, the dragon itself complies, unsure what other paths are open. In that compliance lies the tension. A lamb, so symbolic withing the Western tradition floats with Dragon in their strange world. Although it is the first lamb the skulls and bones of other sheep lie scattered in the cave. We are left to ponder how they appeared.
