I wanted to depict the time before the hero arrives, where Andromeda and her Dragon (Sea Monster) wait for the action to begin. What would they have thought or discussed in the unknown time between inaction and action? As I worked on the three images of Andromeda in the cavern, merging elements from each of these small pieces became compositional studies for a larger painting.
